Grey Matters! 2016, an Entrepreneurial Development Conclave was held on December 17, 2016, at IIM Lucknow, Noida Campus, as a soft launch event for L-Incubator. The event had a footfall of 200+ participants. The aim of the event was to create awareness and promote IIM Lucknow Incubator among the startup fraternity.
The day started with the inaugural session of L-Incubator, IIM Lucknow with a welcome note by Dr. Ajit Prasad, Director IIM Lucknow followed by a brief on the incubator and incubation process of L-Incubator by Prof. M Akbar, Chairman L- Incubator. The honorable Chief Guest of the event was Ms. Bindu Dey, Secretary, TDB, DST, who inaugurated the L- Incubator by lightning the lamp followed by her speech. The session’s closing note was addressed by Prof. Amit Mookerjee, Dean Noida Campus.
The event had various panel discussions. ‘Make in India | Strategic Management Forum & L-INCUBATOR, the panel focused on the opportunities and challenges of Indian companies. The panel session was moderated by Prof. Anadi Pande, Professor of Strategy, IIM Lucknow. The speakers to this panel were: Mr. Shakil Manocha: GM BHEL, Dr. Bindu Dey: Secretary, TDB, DST, Mr. Paritosh Sharma, Author-Patanjalize Your Brand, Mr. Satish Kataria: founder of Catapooolt, Ms. Yutika Vohra Sharma: Director at Naagrik. The key points highlighted in the discussion were job creation, the contribution of various industries like manufacturing, power, and infrastructure in our growing economy.
Post tea sessions were focused on ‘Future trends that Entrepreneurs should capitalize’ and ‘The Good, Bad & Ugly of Incubators & Accelerators’ and was moderated by Mr. Rajiv Indimath, AVP, Incubator IIM Lucknow. The panel session had speakers from industry and startup community, like Mr. Sanjeev Malhotra, CEO, IoT, NASSCOMM, Mr. Ashwin Srivastava, founder of Idein Ventures, Mr. Satish Kataria, founder of Catapooolt, Mr. Pranav Bhakta, founder of InCa Growth Partners and Nillians Investments LLC, Mr. Paritosh Sharma, founder of unCv and Mr.Tarun Sharma, Director at Naagrik. The session elaborated on covering long gestation periods in a business for sustaining in the long run, building a partnership as part of ecosystem development, let practical knowledge float in the Incubator by Entrepreneurs, rather academicians and bureaucrats intervening and do focus on the business revenue model.
The post lunch sessions were engagement sessions. We held a Business Model Canvas conducted by Mr. Pranav Bhakta and Mr. Rajiv Indimath. The session discussed the internalities involved in the business model development and an innovative way to navigate your venture through the constantly dynamic business scenario. Participants learnt 9 key building blocks of business model: Customer Segments, Value Proposition, Channels, Resources, Key Partnerships, Key Activities, Customer Relationships, Revenue Structure, and Cost Structure.
The event was concluded with a competition on Development of Business Model Canvas. Various teams enthusiastically participated.
