IIM Lucknow signs MoU with GAIL

The IIM Lucknow's Enterprise Incubation Center, IIML-Incubator, and GAIL India Limited entered into a MoU to work together for incubating innovative ideas and business start-ups primarily in the core energy sector but open for other promising non-core areas.

The MoU was signed and exchanged by Prof. Akbar, Managing Director IIML-Incubator, IIM Lucknow, and Mr. Manoj R. Meshram, ED (R&D), GAIL in the presence of Honourable Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas & Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan during the Start-Up Sangam event held on 25th October 2017, Wednesday at The Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi.

During the event, India’s state-run companies came together to support 40 start-ups who will be funded for the next three years through a corpus of Rs 320 crore under an initiative named “Start-up Sangam”.

The selected start-ups work in various fields like converting waste plastics to petroleum fuels, solar stove, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented reality to help Oil and Gas PSU’s, and leak detectors for liquefied natural gas (LNG) cylinders, among others.

Speaking at the Start-Up Sangam event, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan said: “these partners of the oil and gas companies are expected to establish new benchmarks in the country”.
